Closing Advice

Interview with Ford, Miss T, Reta and Julie

JM: What else would you want a friend or family member to know if they have a loved one going to this jail?
Ford: Yeah get them out on bail and fight the case from the outside, if you can afford to. Always looks better coming in from the outside. Tell your loved one going to jail to be patience and not disconnect from the people who love him on the outside. The chips and stakes can be high and a proper attitude is crucial to come out the other side intact both mentally and physically.
Miss T: Just follow the rules! Keep yourself covered.
Reta: to wear their reading glasses in with them if turning yourself in. and if turning yourself in don't go in "high". you will be tested. you can and most likely get added day's to your sentence. AT work furlough you for sure will. take no bags into work furlough with even an aspirin in it. extra days' just for that alone. very strict! I was in work furlough too. that is the best place to be if given a choice and have a few months to do.
Julie: Don't worry about them. If they're smart they wont look for trouble or be the cause of any. Just answer every call, visit when possible, and remind them your praying for them. Don't let them see or hear you cry because theyre in jail, it's really sad to listen to that.

JM: If somebody knows they will be serving time in this jail what is your advice to them?
Ford: Mind your business and take advantage of any programs that may be offered and give forth a good effort in those programs. They may well help prevent you from returning to an unpleasant situation.
Miss T: Use your time to try and improve yourself. Do a lot of self reflection, writing, and prayer. Read a lot. Know that this too shall pass.
Reta: books must be sent by the publisher only. at visiting have your visitors go early and check in two hours before and then go have lunch or dinner and return ten minutes prior to actual visiting times. ladies get your hair colored before you go in if turning yourself in & a nice manicure/pedicure-it sure makes you feel good in a horrible place when you always feel like you could cry. BUT YOU WILL GET THROUGH IT. JUST KEEP TO YOURSELF, WRITE LOT'S OF LETTER'S, HAVE YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS VISIT OFTEN. USE IT AS A TIME TO GROW AND SEE HOW STRONG YOU REALLY ARE. WHAT DOESN'T KILL YOU DOES MAKE YOU STRONGER.
Julie: Don't be dumb. :)
